Here is another recipe from our Church cook book. It is for a crock pot beef stew


1 1/2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
2 cups water
1 small onion, chopped
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
10 cubes beef bouillon, crumbled
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon dried basil



Place beef in a slow cooker. Pour in water. Stir in onion, tomatoes, mixed vegetables and potatoes. Season with bouillon, pepper, salt and basil. Cook on low 8 hours.


This is our neighbors recipe (She hates to cook)

1 lb. cubed steak
1 Tbsp. oil
1-14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes w garlic and onion
1-14.5 oz. can sliced new potatoes
1-14.5 oz. can mixed vegetables
1-12 oz. jar of beef gravy


1. Brown cubed steak in 1 Tbsp. cooking oil over medium-high heat in large skillet.
2. Add remaining ingredients.
3. Simmer 15 minutes; stirring occasionally.
